Literature Text

Brims like summer plants, optics like fall
Keep my heart temperate, my brain content
His appearance is not quite short but tall
His lips curve, had my heart at that event

He likes me more than his guitar, he claims
I like him well to write him a sonnet
Oh now he makes my heart grow into flames
Will he cease to make me smile big? Darn it.

Everyday, every night he rings
We art far apart but only in eye
He is for sure one of the best spring flings
We will, but our affection will not die

Who may I speak of? That is thee my love
Thou art a present that is from above
My intentions were to get extra credit in literature class
for my spring semester of freshman year while learning about Shakespeare's work.

Story behind this piece:
About a boy named Stephen,
he blinded me with kind words and was a hopeless romantic for a few weeks in the month of April.
he stopped talking to shortly after I made this
and got back with his ex-girlfriend, darn shame.
So our affection did die, but this poem lives on.
